Unifying tech at ISE 2019

At this year’s International Systems Europe (ISE) exhibition, our team at Beckhoff Automation will be demonstrating to visitors how they can integrate multiple technology applications and functions into a single control platform. The team will be exhibiting at stand D150 in hall 9, from February 5 – 8, 2019.

The ISE exhibition floor is sectioned into six different technology zones and our colleagues from Beckhoff will be in the smart building zone. Here, the ISE will also host the Smart Building Conference, which is a one-day programme that gives visitors an insight into existing building technologies and the future of smart buildings.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionised the way we connect with each other, providing countless streams of data that can be used to enhance our day-to-day lives. However, we have only just begun to scratch the surface of how IoT can be used to increase energy efficiency, reliability and productivity for buildings.

To fit with the themes for this year’s ISE exhibition, we will be showing visitors how building technology applications, stage and show technology, audio-visual (AV) and multimedia communications can be connected through one platform. This includes showcasing our advanced speech recognition software, TwinCAT Speech, which makes it possible for a controller to process speech signals.

Many companies have begun advocating for open source and open platforms. Openness and flexibility have always been a small business advantage against the major players, but now we are seeing a clear change in attitude especially in building automation.

At Beckhoff, we provide software modules like TwinCAT TCP/IP, which can open up new fields of application. At ISE, we will be showing visitors how this can be achieved particularly regarding entertainment applications. For example, how the module can be used for open sound control (OSC), MIDI integration and show how the new EL2596 EtherCAT Terminal can deliver high-precision control of LEDs.

The team will also be demonstrating the latest developments to our ultra-compact Industrial PC series and TwinCAT HMI, which is a software tool that is used for rapid creation of platform-independent user interfaces.

If you’re interested in speaking to someone from our team, come and say hello at stand D150 in hall 9. Tickets to the event are free but you’ll need to visit the link here and enter the registration code 378555, when prompted to do so. However, if you’re not heading to the show but would like to know more about our applications and products for building automation, send me a message or comment below.
